Injury time is a period of added time when a match stopped to treat an injured player. The longer the game was stopped for treating an injured player the longer the injury time will be added. In a normal situation they will 3 or 4-minute injury time that will be added however in some situation they can be more than 4 minutes. The longest injury time that ever been recorded for football games is 23 minutes in 2000/01 season in a game between Brentford and Bristol City.

Injury time is very crucial in football games especially in the knockout stages or some important games as once a team had scored the winning goal the other team will have no chance to come back to equalize. And in football crucial games, they are some game that had been decided by an injury time winner and here are some of the games


Manchester United vs Bayern Munich 1999 UEFA Champion League Final

They kept on pressuring and attacking the Dortmund goals and had scored via Phillip Coutinho and Mamadou Sakho. The crucial 4th goal come when Dejan Lovren had scored via a header in the injury time to send Liverpool to the semi-final and knocking out Dortmund.


AC Milan vs Ajax Amsterdam 2003 UEFA Champion League Quarter Final Second Leg

One team wanted to overcome the curse of Bella Guttman former Benfica manager who had cursed that Benfica will never win another European Champion in 100 years and another team wants to become the first English team to win all 3 European competition.
